Coordinated Inc. ("Company," "we," "us") operates the Handled service ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Phone number: When you text our phone number, we receive your mobile phone number. This is required to operate the Service.
- Message content: The text messages you send us, including your preferences, requests, and responses to our questions.
- Voting data: If you use our web-based voting page, we collect your vote selections.
- Name: If you voluntarily provide your name during conversation, we store it to personalize your experience.
Information We Generate
- Preference profile: Based on your selections and feedback, we build a profile of your activity, dining, and event preferences to improve future recommendations.
- Location inference: We infer your general metro area from your phone number area code to provide local recommendations. We do not access your device GPS or precise location.
- Plan history: Records of plans created, recommendations received, and selections made.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or any data on your device.
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels on our voting pages beyond essential session functionality.
- We do not collect payment information (booking links direct you to third-party sites that handle payment).
2. Mobile Information Disclosure
No mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.
Your phone number and SMS consent are used exclusively to operate the Handled recommendation service — sending you the recommendations and plan updates you have requested. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise distribute your phone number or any mobile opt-in data to any third party for any purpose, including but not limited to marketing, advertising, promotional communications, or lead generation.
The only third party that processes your SMS messages is our telecommunications provider (Twilio Inc.), which transmits messages on our behalf as a service provider under contract, not for their own marketing purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Phone number: Send and receive SMS messages to operate the Service.
- Message content: Understand your preferences and generate relevant recommendations.
- Preference profile: Improve recommendation quality over time based on your past selections and feedback.
- Plan history: Avoid recommending venues you have already visited or previously rejected.
- Voting data: Determine group consensus and notify participants of results.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the Service:
- Twilio: SMS delivery. Processes your phone number and message content under contract.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI engine for generating recommendations. Message context is processed to create responses.
- Google Places API, Ticketmaster, Eventbrite: Venue and event data retrieval. Your personal information is not shared with these services.
- Supabase: Secure database hosting.
5. Data Retention
- Active users: Data retained to provide and improve the Service.
- Opted-out users (texted STOP): Only phone number and opt-out status retained to honor your preference. All other data deleted within 30 days.
- Deletion requests (texted DELETE MY DATA): All data permanently deleted within 30 days, including phone number, plan history, and preferences.
6. Your Rights
All Users
- Opt out of SMS: Text STOP to our phone number at any time.
- Get help: Text HELP for support information.
- Delete your data: Text DELETE MY DATA to our phone number.
- Access your data: Email privacy@handledvip.com to request a copy of all data we hold about you.
California Residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover we have, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be communicated via SMS before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
